Definition: current is the flow of electron or electric charge.

What is current?? || Various Types of Current || Basics of Electrical





There are three various types of current which flows in any electrical circuit, which is mentioned below:


1. Direct Current

2. Fluctuating Current

3. Alternating Current


Description of all the types of current is shown below...

1. Direct Current


The current which can flow always in one direction in any circuit is called Direct Current.


Wave form of direct current is shown in below image:

So we tell that the current whose magnitude remains constant with respect to time and continuous flow of current in straight or constant is called direct current


So we conclude that the direct current have a constant magnitude and direction with respect to time.


2. Fluctuating Current


The current which direction of current is constant but it's magnitude is have small periodic variation with respect to time.

So at last we conclude that the direction of current make be always constant but magnitude is keep changing.


3. Alternating Current


The current which changes magnitude and direction periodically in regular interval of time is called alternating current.

Necessary condition of the alternating current is the periodic variation of the time means in particular interval of time


So , In alternating current magnitude and direction both are change with respect to time.
